Survival Meters & HUD
Your body is tracked by a small stack of bars and markers in the top-left corner of the screen — it stays quiet until something is wrong, then it tells you exactly what.
Body Temperature
Your body runs at a temperature you have to manage — too cold and you freeze, too hot and you cook — and it quietly drives your thirst, hunger, and stamina alongside its own dangers.
Injuries, Conditions & Health
There is no hearts bar in Alone — the body is a set of separate systems shown through the corner meters, the temperature square, and a paper-doll injury figure, and damage becomes real wounds you have to treat before you can heal.
Food & Eating
Eating keeps hunger up, but what, how, and when you eat all matter — raw food can cause sickness, meals take real time, and a monotonous diet stops filling you up.
Food Preservation
Perishable food rots over time. Preservation converts it to a form with a much longer shelf life.
Water, Thirst & Vessels
Thirst only ever drops, and the water you find can cause sickness unless it is treated.
Fire
Fire warms you, cooks food, and boils water clean. It is never free, and keeping one alive costs less than starting a new one.
Tools & Crafting
Crafting is real work: trees can't be punched, crafting takes time and roots you in place, and metal gear must be forged and tempered by hand. This page covers the progression from bare hands to a full toolkit.
Weight, Carrying & Blocks
Everything you carry has a weight and a volume, and breaking or moving blocks costs time and stamina.
Climbing & Rope
You can get up and down a cliff or a tree without a ladder. Climbing is slow, burns stamina, and drops you if your stamina runs out mid-climb.
Hunting & Wildlife
Wild animals don't stand around to be clubbed, and meat isn't free. Hunting is a craft of stealth,
World, Seasons & Spawns
The world runs on a turning year, confines natural hostile spawns to areas near loot structures, and makes light a consumable resource.
Storage & Transport
Your body carry is split into two budgets — about 1 m³ of bulky items in your hands and 0.30 m³ of small items in your pockets (see Weight, Carrying & Blocks). A woven basket raises the hands budget, and a backpack carries its own separate store.
Boats
A boat is not a five-plank craft you knock together in seconds. Like everything else here, it's a real
Sleep & Rest
Sleep is a genuine need in Alone, not a button to skip the night — resting sheds fatigue and restores stamina, and how well you sleep depends on how comfortable you are.
The Start — Your Loadout
Like the show Alone, you don't spawn with a full toolkit — you begin a new world with nothing but the clothes you're in, and you get to bring two items from an approved list, chosen against the biome you woke in. That single choice turns worldgen into a run: a tarp and a sleeping bag read very differently on a freezing coast than a felling axe and a bow do in temperate woods.
